This page explains how paying for MyWika works: what you pay for, how plans renew and end, and how refunds work. If anything here isn't clear, email us and a person will answer.
The Short Version
- The MyWika app, its starter packs, community packs, and everything people make and share are free, and they stay free.
- Plans pay for the servers behind Sync and Backup.
- Plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.
- Changed your mind? Refund it yourself within 7 days.
- MyWika never sees or stores your card.
What's Free and What's Paid
The MyWika app, its starter packs, community packs, and everything people make and share are free, and they stay free.
Paid plans (Sync, Plus, and later Max) pay for things that cost us money every month to run, like servers and cloud storage. Each plan's price and what it includes are shown on the Plans page before you buy.
If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy a plan.
How You Pay
How you pay depends on where you bought your plan:
- Plans bought on our website or in the app downloaded from our site go through Stripe, where you enter your card on Stripe's own page.
- Plans bought in the Google Play version of the app go through Google Play, using the payment method on your Google account. In progress
MyWika never sees or stores your card or payment details. Stripe or Google Play handles them.
Renewing and Cancelling
Plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
You can cancel any time. For a Stripe plan, use Manage Plan in the app. For a Google Play plan, cancel in the Play Store under Subscriptions. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
If you delete your account while you have a plan, the plan is cancelled at the same moment, so you're never charged again.
If we change a plan's price, we'll tell you before it affects your next payment. Features we've marked as free won't suddenly become paid.
If a Payment Fails
If your card is declined or about to expire, Stripe emails you a link to update it. Your plan keeps working while Stripe tries again. If it can't collect the payment in the end, your plan ends.
Refunds
For a Stripe plan, you can refund your latest payment yourself within 7 days of it, with the Refund My Payment button on the Plans page. You'll see what happens before you confirm. One tap returns your money and ends the plan right away. You can do this once per account.
After 7 days, cancelling stops future payments but doesn't refund earlier ones.
For a Google Play plan, refunds follow Google Play's own rules. Ask for one through Google Play.
If you were charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or something else went wrong with a payment, email us any time, even after 7 days, and we'll make it right.
Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with. It usually reaches your card in 5 to 10 business days.
If you're a parent and your child bought a plan without your approval, email us and we'll help.
When a Plan Ends
When a plan ends, whether you cancelled it, refunded it, or a payment failed, you have 30 days to get your data. Your restore points and backups can still be restored during that time, but nothing new is saved. After 30 days, the copy on our servers is deleted and can't be recovered.
The cards on your own devices are never touched. They're yours.
Support MyWika
You can support MyWika's development from our website, mywika.com: once, with any amount you choose from $3, or $5 a month, which you can cancel any time. It goes through Stripe. Since NexEdge Studios is a business, it isn't a tax-deductible donation, and it isn't a purchase, so it doesn't unlock anything in the app. It isn't offered inside the app.
Because it's a gift, it's final. The only exceptions are mistakes, like giving twice or the wrong amount, or a child giving without a parent's permission. Email us and we'll make it right.
Tips for Pack Creators
Tips are a way to thank the person who made a pack, and they're separate from supporting MyWika. They happen only on the community website, never inside the app: you visit the creator's profile on community.mywika.com and tip them there, through Stripe. A tip doesn't unlock anything. In progress
Tips are $5 or more. Stripe's processing fee and a 15% MyWika platform fee come out of each tip, and the rest goes to the creator.
Creators choose whether they take tips at all, and whether the amount they've received shows on their profile or stays private. In progress
Tips are final. The only exceptions are mistakes, like being charged twice, or a child tipping without a parent's permission. Email us and we'll make it right.
Before You Dispute a Charge
If something looks wrong on your statement, please email us before asking your bank to reverse it. Most problems can be fixed faster that way. We may close paid features on accounts that abuse refunds or file false disputes.
Changes to This Policy
When this policy changes, we'll update the date below. If it's a big change, we'll tell you in the app first.
